Hi!
Using the latest Audacity, I am able to record, play, stop, pause, and select all, but, how can I select parts of a "project" to edit? Are there, perhaps, undocumented analogs to Goldwave's "start" and "end" markers? Are there JFW scripts to help with Audacity?
Thanks,
-Dave
Hey dave, I use audacity also with jaws 5.1, I have not done a hole lot of workin with it yet though because I am confident in WavePad. I think that is an excellent recording software program, and it is free and it works great with jaws. I would recommend that you google jaws scripts for audacity or something like that and see if they have scripts or not. That usually works for me when I google it. Hope these suggestions work for you and I will tell you if I can find any scripts for audacity.
There is a Wiki for blind users of Audacity which states that some functions still have yet to have keystrokes assigned. Just google Audacity and Blind and you'll find it. Since it's open-source, just keep on them to continue making it more accessible.
Thanks for suggestions, thus far. I have already googled for audacity and scripts; still haven't found any. Regarding keystrokes, I'll look for "audacity" and "blind"; see what comes up. The real issue I have with this program is that I cannot select part of a sound for editing.
Cheers,
-Dave H
As I stated before dave you might want to check out using WavePad. I think it is a great free program for recording, and you can select certain parts of a file easily.
Hi:
I found the hints on using Audacity eyes-free in the Audacity wiki. Guess I'll need lots of practice with manipulating the cursor(s) in order to make the thing useful. Regarding Wave Pad, it seems to be even worse re: selection. Same conditions apply.
Thanks,
-Dave
